Detailed rules – recruitment for full-time and part-time second cycle studies

The basis for the admission of a foreign candidate to a second-cycle programme shall be a university graduation diploma (first-cycle or unified master's degree studies):

  • issued in the Republic of Poland,
  • issued abroad and recognised under an international agreement,
  • issued abroad and recognised pursuant to art. 326 of the Act of 20 July 2018 Higher Education and Science Law (consolidated text Journal of Laws of 2020 item 85, as amended.),
  • issued abroad and recognised by nostrification.

2) A diploma obtained abroad enabling admission to studies in the country of issue ahall entitle the student to undertake second-cycle studies.

3) In the case of certificates or diplomas that cannot be recognised as giving access to further education on the basis of an international agreement, the candidate will be required to produce a certificate confirming that the certificate or diploma gives access to studies in the country of issue. The certificate should be issued by an authorised body (consulate, ministry).

4) Foreign education documents should be duly legalised or provided with an apostille.

5) Documents drawn up in a foreign language should be translated into Polish by:

  • a Polish sworn translator entered in the register of translators of the Ministry of Justice,
  • a translator in the candidate's home country, provided that the translation is certified by a Polish consul in the candidate's home country.

 

Legalisation of foreign education documents

If the country where the document was issued is a party to the Convention abolishing the requirement of legalisation for foreign public documents, drawn up in the Hague on 5 October 1961. (Journal of Laws of 2005, No. 112, item 938), legalisation of a document is replaced in that country by an apostille certificate attached to the document. If the country where the document was issued is not a party to the Convention, then the legalization of the document is performed by the Polish consulate in that country.
